As of today, global warming has affected the world drastically. It should be our responsibility to protect the Earth from further damage.
Global warming has caused major climate shifts all around.
On 31 March 2007, more than 2 million Sydney businesses and households turned off their lights for one hour - Earth Hour - sending a powerful national and global message that it’s possible to take action on global warming.
As for now there is only 24cities taking part in Earth Hour and Malaysia is not one of them.
Take a look at the video above
By8 tonight, I encourage you to turn off your house lights or even wherever you are.
Just this one simple gesture can help make Malaysia known as a country which also cares not only for ourselves but also the Earth.
Let us reunite with the other 24cities and switch of our lights for anhour.
I strongly encourage you to take part in this contribution.
By just taking part nothing will be lost, but the Earth will certainly gain a longer life.
Today had been a really hactic day. did nothing but kept on drawing and eating then draw again and then eat..and so on.. and i managed to finish it..
Next task is to master the art of rendering for my drawing. click here if you want to know what rendering is about in architecture.
Right. Due to insufficient information on rendering techniques from home..
I'll have to surrender tomorrow's rest day to go back to college and do my research.
sad ain't it but I wouldnt mind.
It doesnt hurt to give up one Saturday to gain some knowledge on techniques to further improve in my architecture knowledge.
Okay enough about my work for today.
Recently i have been question by many people( for those who knows me), about why I'm named mango =)
To start off, its not my own proclaimed nickname.lol
In fact, it was given to me by my bestie, Sean aka Durian.
I was given that name because i called him durian due to his oh-so-spiky hair and then he gave me mango. i forgotten wht the reason was.lol
Besides that I love mangoes. Especially mango milkshakes but i just love anything that has to do with mangoes.
Due to my love for mangoes.. I've found a shop specially opened for mango lovers.haha
everything there have somehow, to do with mangoes.
no doubt its an awesome shop though.
Good place to endulge in mango desserts. Would be a little pricey though but its worth it to try something from there. I recommend you to try the mango yogurt(RM 6.50) and mango milkshake( around 10bucks). its friggin delicious.
It may seem costly but health fruits are definately costly just like when your a vegetarian, all vegetarian products are costly. So.. yeah dont need to be surprised by the price you pay.lol.
Location of Mango Mania: 36, Jalan Telawi, Bangsar Baru (Opposite EON Bank).
I would give you their website if they had one but sadly, they don't. So that means you have to go there and see for yourself =P.
Mango Mania had become my favourite shop though I've only tried it once.lol(yes..its THAT good)
Currently I'm also interested in dancing, yoga and kick boxing.
So far, I've only manage to start on dancing. Taking up latin dance in college during Tuesdays(only cost RM10 per semester, I'll say its worth it=P)
Due to that i've gotten myself a pair of 3-inched black dancing heels(well, actually bought my mum, chosen by me) .Wanted to name them but no names are in mind yet. Any suggestions?
On the same week i went shopping for my pair of dancing heels, I happened to drop by Zara in Bangsar Village and while looking at a pair of heels that i fell in love at first sight (usually its with a person but its a pair of heels for now.lol)
After admiring those heels, I had to leave them there cause I know my mum wouldnt allow and i had no cash with me. From then onwards, i was just thinking about those pair of heels until the next day. I couldnt stand it.. so i went back there and GOT IT! LOL.
There it is.. my new heels! .. i call them my Sexy Blacks. Lovin' them lovin' them.LOL.
They make me look sexy , so they shall represent sexy =P.
Thank God i got them, otherwise I'll just be thinking about them all week long. Besides that, it was the one and only size that suits me for this pair. so yeah good thing I decided to go back to the shop and 'rescue' them.haha
Before I end..
Check this out.
It just somehow works!
It's called 'The Chinese Eye Test'
If you cannot decipher anything, then try pulling the corner of your eyes as if you were Chinese( though you are a chinese, you still have to do so.lol)
Sorry for the hold up from the last blog. Wanted to write more but yeah no time coz I had 2 assignments to complete in just one night. Due to those assignments, I slept at 3 in the morning. I just love how the lecturers planned the due dates (not)-__-". Anyhoo.. The assignments that I was working on were to complete my mini model and to prepare for my English presentation which was today. Thank God I managed to get done with them and get some shut eyes.
The model assignment was to construct a model showing my place of retreat by referring it to any painting that I have chosen and so this is what I got and made.
Hah! This be the picture that I have chosen to create my model from. It’s a painting by Andrea Beech named Acrylic Abstract Painting. I think it’s a simple and yet awesome abstract painting. It looks as if there is an opening in the picture. Can you see it? Its like that black patch almost in the centre of the painting. Its like never ending. There is also many square boxes in the painting almost signifying the painting as part as part of a building all on its own. The light colors in the painting just make it seem as if it pertruding out of the painting. From this painting I drew out the main outlines and the contructed my building as I have shown below. Yeah and that was the result of what I’ve gotten from my painting.
English presentation kinda sucked for me cause I memories dam hard and I was so sure I got everything in my head when it came to the time I can release everything, I have no idea I what I needed to say.dammit.lol. I was dam stoned out there.. disappointing it was but then I’m satisfied with the marks. Haha. Out of 16 I got bloody 11! MIRACLE. Thank God that’s done and over with.
Visited Malacca last Friday with the rest of the architecture students to look at buildings and sort like analyze. After analysis we are supposedly to sketch out the buildings and write our comments about it but… I took the short cut and took the pictures instead.lol. Don’t misunderstand me as a lazy person okay. Haha. It’s just so that I can show you people the land of Malacca.LOL. Okay okay maybe I was a lil lazy but then it’s true I did it for you people too =P. Here’s some picture that I have taken in the trip to Melaka:
The first place we visited was Jonker Street (yes, the oh so famous street.lol. Psst.. there’s pasar malam here every Sunday =D) Yeah. You will be able to see all the paparazzi in this picture a.k.a my college mates.lol This is dam cool. It’s not an exterior feature of a house but instead it’s an interior of one of the really small shop house in Jonker Street. Can you imagine? There were indoor windows and sun-roofs in the house. Imagine all the natural light you can get. It’s an awesome idea though to have light coming in through the roof during the day time. I guess having windows directly in front of the other rooms does give a cozy feeling. It’s like waking up every morning and opening the windows to your familiar surroundings instead of waking up to face the view outside. The sky-roof is a very good idea cause it prevents light from entering the house directly through the windows. Thus, it wouldn’t be too glaring neither will it be too hot. This is one of the old ceilings that I’ve found .fully made with wood. It’s still in a pretty good condition after all those years.
I kinda like this picture. So that’s the only reason why I posted it up. Haha Let’s say he’s a lil lost…(okay maybe a lot.LOL)
This will be Jonker Street and yeah it was a really hot and sunny but no doubt the sky was perfect! And that will be the perfect sky after I changed the camera setting.Nice right? The interior of one of the many souvenir shops found in Jonker Street. I think Jonker Street can be considered as a main tourist attraction in Melaka other then the Red buildings there. A mosque built beside a temple. This just shows how close the , communities there, were last time. To consider putting both different religious buildings side-by-side, I thought that was something we don’t see everyday but well, it’s a good thing. Shows that Malaysia is a multi-racial and open minded country back then. The backside of the shop lots. No different from the old house we can see in Kuala Lumpur. So couldn’t it have been the same architect? Well, I’ll soon find out and will let you guys know. A lil verification done to this corner lot building. What that was changed was just really the paint job. Just in one glance I actually thought they restructured the whole buiding.LOL. but nah.. I mistaken it. They kept the whole concept of the antic shop and just repaint and added in some modern furnitures and such. Even the windows are kept. This shop is named Geoprapher, I still have no idea why they named it that. Any idea why? Btw it’s a club during the night, most tourist will be chillin’ and drinkin’ there. So.. yeah.. I think it would be sort of a happening place during the night. As you can see, antics are widely sold in Melaka. Nothing could be more interesting then visiting one of this shops. Not only that antics are also sold at a very reasonable and affordable price. Most of the items are handmade from wood and painted. Can you see?! 2bucks per 1 and half hour. Its cheap. Well, at least the cheapest I’ve seen.lol so cute! lOL. i meant the public toilet and that toilet casher guy=P
okay that was only about one destination.after Jonker Street, we moved on to mini malaysia. But then it was a huge dissapointment. When you hear the title 'Mini Malaysia' , you would definately think about mini twin towers and mini skyscrapers around Malaysia right?. wrong. i was so excited to finally reach our destination. cameras ready. passed the main entrance. and this is what mini malaysia is about... The main entrence(sounds interesting right?)
then followed by kampung.. then next kampung.. more kampungs.. and countinuing...
So dissapointing -tsk tsk tsk-.. what to do..its malaysia. In my opinion this place should be updated with the latest buildings in Malaysia. at least show like the interesting places around Malaysia instead of kampung houses. With that this place could actually attract more visitors rather then just a handful. Other than that.. we had to pay an entrence fee of RM10 just to look at kampung house when we could see them for free in the kampung areas -__-"
okay this is it!
Before we ended our trip in mini malaysia. They had a presentation ready for US to enjoy.lol. Lets say I wasnt really interested in the presentation until...
yesh! that is whats interesting.LOL.i'm sorry i dont have a recording of it but its so really funny. that's our lecturer btw. i got more pics but I dont dare paste more just in case he happen to find my blog =P. I'll say that's about the most amusing thing that happened on that trip.haha.
oh i forgot one thing.. LUNCH! ..OMG cant believe i've forgotten that..
ok as you know right..when you go Malacca you'll mostly be suggested to try the Malacca's Famous Chicken Rice Ball right?
and thats what we had for lunch..
mmm..but i'll say.. the rice balls are not as nice as normal chicken rice. I'll recommend you to choose the yam rice ball instead of the chicken rice ball coz it has more tast and taste way nicer .trust me.
This blog will be mainly about places that I visit on my architecture trip and interesting food that i have tried (not to mention yummy..lol). Not only that, it'll also be about interesting things that i go through daily(to say that anything weird could happen anytime and anywhere). i'll post up a more interesting blog the next time.right now i'll just let you know what I'm up and about lately =P. started college like 3months ago.. life have never been so busy since SPM was over. I'm currently taking architeture course and am fascinated with gothic structures and buildings, or anything to do with gothic themes. i render them cool.though their not happy colors but they do make me feel like myself. it shows sense of being mysterious and yet secretive. I also have a Canon EOS 400D Rebel. Its my sexy baybeh.
yeahh..that's my sexy baybeh.LOL
Goes with me on every trip i have, sees the things i see and most importantly its mine! lol. Anyway back to the point college is serious shit but its dam hell lot of fun. So I'm enjoying every second of it though there are assignments after assignments after assignments. Ok i shall stop for now got dam lot of assignment to catch up on.
P.S. Dont forget to check up on my next blog. cya till then!
